This bronze statue is the work of Marcelle Kerkhofs.  She made it in 2001 on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Julie Billiart.

She has portrayed the two foundresses.  Notice the posture and the open hands.  Julie is in ecstacy totally abandoned to the good God.  She receives the graces of her vocation and shares them with Françoise who receives them and takes them to her heart.  One day, she will continue the work and the mission of Julie.

Near them is a child with open hands, symbol of all children and young adults who will receive so much from Julie and Françoise and from their “daughters”, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
